Collectin-43 is a serum protein produced by the liver and a member of the collectin family. Collectins bind to microbial surface carbohydrates in a calcium-dependent way and thereby impeding infectivity or mediating phagocytosis through specific receptors on the phagocytes. Collectin-43 has so far only been found in Bovidae. It was given its name from its reduced mass of 43 kDa.

In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE HYB 260-04 reacts strongly with CL-43 in both reduced and non-reduced forms. Both full lenght and truncated CL-43 is recognized.
